Here is the baked cake that I will use. The 'Best Ever Texas Sheet Cake' won on the debate, and it is frozen and ready to add the decorations. I even put the icing on the cake while it was still warm in the pans (which means the regular choc icing is on the bottom now) and then inverted it onto my handy dandy cake saver made by tupperware. The top layer was tricky because it kinda ... 'spat' right out onto the bottom layer when I inverted. But with the warm icing that was on it, I was quickly able to adjust and wiggle it back in place without too much damage.
My debate continues with the decorating. I love strawberries and chocolate and I can put them on my mess ups. Remember, I haven't decorated a cake since you kids were little and then I only did a few. The wooden blocks did come in yesterday, but I'm not sure they will work. Kinda thick for this cake.
Anyway, maybe we will all learn something in this process. The lesson will be either titled "How Grammy decorated the Princess's Birthday Cake" or "How Grammy Royally Screwed up The Princess's Birthday Cake". :)
